Correction and Retracion

The Qualitative Research in Early Childhood Education Journal (QR-ECE) and its publisher Arendra Publisher – CV. Chandralia Bintang Pustaka are committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of the scholarly record. Any post-publication changes are handled in accordance with best practices in academic publishing and COPE guidelines.

Erratum (Correction by Authors)

An erratum is issued when authors identify errors or omissions in their published article. The correction must clearly describe the changes and indicate whether the conclusions of the article are affected.

The original article remains accessible, and a linked erratum notice is published. The erratum is freely available to all readers.

Retraction

A retraction is issued when an article is found to be unreliable or violates publication ethics. Reasons for retraction may include:

  • Evidence of research misconduct (e.g., data fabrication or falsification)
  • Plagiarism or duplicate publication
  • Unethical research practices
  • Major errors that invalidate the findings

Retracted articles are not removed from the journal website. Instead, a retraction notice is issued, freely accessible, and linked to the original article to maintain transparency.

Retractions may be initiated by authors, editors, or the publisher. The notice will clearly state the reason for retraction and indicate who is responsible for the decision.

Publisher’s Note

A Publisher’s Note is issued when corrections are required due to production or typographical errors introduced during the publication process.

In such cases, the corrected version replaces the original article, and a notice is provided to inform readers. Minor errors that do not affect the scientific content may be corrected at the publisher’s discretion.

Post-Publication Updates

If significant corrections are required, the article may be updated and the correction date will be clearly indicated. Replacement of articles is typically limited to within one year of publication. For older articles, corrections will be documented through a formal notice.

Guidelines Reference

This policy follows the best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors, editors, and reviewers are encouraged to adhere to these standards to ensure the integrity of scholarly communication.
